I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and also a Chinese-American woman. I provide telehealth therapy to adults in the state of New York, namely within the AAPI and LGBTQIA+ communities, experiencing depression, anxiety, relational trauma, relationship concerns, career challenges, life transitions, and identity/self-esteem exploration.

My Approach

My approach to therapy integrates several frameworks to create a unique fit just for you, utilizing:

  • relational existential perspectives

  • humanistic/strength-based approaches

I believe we, as humans, are created, perceived, harmed, transformed, and healed through our various relationships. I hope our collaborative relationship in the therapeutic space will foster a healing environment for self-exploration and personal growth. I will provide a safe and supportive space to explore your inner world, ask questions that promote insight and curiosity, sit with you during challenging moments, and gently challenge you to broaden your perspective.

We will explore factors that may be contributing to stuckness and distress, such as

  • emotional disconnection & overthinking

  • loss/grief & uncertainty

  • perfectionism & hypercriticism

  • procrastination & burnout

  • social anxiety & people-pleasing

  • familial/cultural/societal expectations & pressures

  • intercultural identity challenges & immigrant guilt

  • inherited roles & relational patterns

  • challenging childhood experiences

We will explore the origins, functions, and barriers to provide understanding and compassion and develop practical coping skills and balanced beliefs aligned with what you are now seeking, which may be belonging, acceptance, community, connection, empathy, safety, security, being known by self and others, joy, agency, creativity, purpose, hope, celebration, love, and self-trust.
